In entrepreneurship, Croatia’s present is also its better future – said Miljenko Živaljić, CEO of Zagrebačka banka, at the award ceremony as part of the Moj Zaba Start competition.

– The projects that made it to the finals come from various sectors and industries. This shows that Croatia has a broad entrepreneurial potential and that as a society we must do everything to ensure the conditions for realizing that potential – stated Živaljić while congratulating the winners.

Awards in three categories of the competition: My Opportunity, My Green Zone, and My Creative Line were presented by Živaljić along with board members Daniela Roguljić Novak and Lorenzo Ramajola.

Ten awarded projects received 12 financial supports totaling one million kuna as the expert committee and the public selected the same finalists as the best projects in two competitions.

My Opportunity – for innovative entrepreneurial and start-up projects

V-PUMP Bicycle Footrest with Pump

The invention combines a bicycle footrest and a pump by placing the pump within the footrest on which the bicycle rests. This allows for financial savings as well as savings in space and weight of the bicycle. The product adapts to all types of bicycle frames.

Gearskin Self-Adhesive Fabric

This versatile self-adhesive fabric is applicable across a wide range of human activities, from hobbies to professional use (outdoor programs, hobby programs, technical fabrics for special purposes, medical programs,…)

Rentlio Web Application

An innovative and advanced web application for apartment, room, villa, small hotel, and B&B landlords eliminates administration and enables quality management of tourist facilities.

My Green Zone – for green entrepreneurship

Winners of the expert committee support (representatives of Zagrebačka banka, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development, REGEA (Regional Energy Agency of Northwestern Croatia), and the Green Building Council):

iCat – « zero emission island catamaran« 

Transport from island to island does not have to be a long and expensive adventure. A fast motorboat has been designed where wind and waves drown out noise and vibrations, and which, with low consumption, enables ferry lines where it was previously unachievable, relying on solar energy.

Organic Pencil « Fabula »

100% organic and eco pencil made from recycled coffee, tea, and waste petals, containing organic binding. The pencil becomes fertilizer for plants when sharpened, and its tip contains seeds of superfood plants that can be planted as a new plant.

System for Treatment, Purification, and Disinfection of Ballast Water and Other Liquids

The goal of the project is to develop a highly environmentally friendly system for treating ballast water on ships. The technology can also be applied in other areas for the purpose of disinfection, purification, or sterilization of liquids and destroying various types of microorganisms from liquids.

My Creative Line – for the creative industry

Winners of the expert committee support (representatives of Zagrebačka banka, Croatian Crafts Chamber, agency Bruketa&Žinić, Jasna Jakovljević from HNK Varaždin, and Dean Sinovčić, film critic):

BOYA Crayons/Pastels for Drawing

A drawing tool that allows for an expressive and intuitive way of drawing, it has an innovative shape and contributes to the synergy created in drawing by the mind, hand, movement, tool, and surface. Boya does not leave marks on hands and is very acceptable for children.

FreeDA, Multi-artist Project, Performance, Exhibition, Documentary Film

The multi-artist project consists of a monodrama, a competitive exhibition of artworks by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, and a documentary film. The performance reaches the audience in homes, museums, gardens, and other non-theatrical spaces.

Smart Materials – Working Materials for Early Stimulation of Intellectual Development

« Smart Materials » combines working materials in the form of templates for educational social games that stimulate early language-speech development, early development of pre-reading and mathematical skills, fine motor skills, concentration, graphomotor skills, logical thinking, functional knowledge, and divergent thinking from the earliest age.

The portal follows the visual arts scene, predominantly of Croatian authors. The content of the publications is based on themes from contemporary visual arts, graphic and product design, architecture, contemporary photography, new media, street art, and related disciplines of contemporary visual arts and culture.
